Background:Europe@nKids 1999 and Europe@nKids 2000
The EuropeanKids project (EK) has started in the 1999/2000 scholastic year for the
Netd@ys Europe by the putting on the net of pupils' works of the Italian school that
manages the project about "The cultural identity and variety in Europe".
During the 2000/2001 scholastic year a new version of the project has involved schools,
teachers, pupils of different European Countries which, managed by this Institute,
contributed to the achievement of a website that shows the works in mother tongue and in
English, about the subjects.
The 12 schools taking part in all phases of the EK2000 project, in spite of the
non-funds CE, are from the following European Countries and Italian towns:
Lithuania: Vesmes secondary school- Klaipeda
Spain: C.P. Zambrana - Alhaurín de la Torre - Málaga
Denmark: Nexø Skole - Nexø-Bornholm e Bernadotteskolen - Copenhagen
Latvia: Riga Pupil's Palace - Riga
Rumania: Scoala no. 12 - Bucuresti
Portugal: Escola Básica 2,3 da Pontinha - Lisbon e Primary School n.º 8 - Santarém
Czech Republic : Gymnasium a Stredni pedagogicka skola - Znojmo (Czech Republic)
Italy: Istituto Comprensivo "L. Pirandello" - Pesaro; "F.Rossi"
Direzione Didattica - Paganica (AQ); IV Circolo Didattico di Marsala
The project has been advertised locally, nationally and internationally, gaining spaces on
newspapers and magazines and recognitions everywhere, including the selection as finalist
at Global Junior Challenge in Rome - December 2000.
There were many requests for taking part in the next phase of the project, in 2001/2002.
The sponsors amply contributed to the success of the project.

EuropeanKids 2001 The project: "Let's meet on the
Web"
1. In the 2001-2002 scholastic year the teamwork activities on line
among European schools are going on with the inclusion of new partners coming from
European Countries not involved up to now. The schools of not represented in EK Countries
will be invited to produce didactic works and to insert them on the web site in order to
complete the description of European reality. Everyone in EC will find documents produced
by students of his own Country in mother tongue and in English language.
2. There will be an Internet space in which the partners and the users
of the project could meet people ("Shared Board", chat, forum
)

The first part of EK 2001 project will be an extension of the work already started;
instead the second part will involve a "quality jump" in the on line interaction
among schools.
We'll organize a virtual meeting space among teachers, students, schools adaptable to
general demand (web forum) or to limited group (chat, Shared Board
)
Individual meetings among students, teachers, parents and other participants in the
scholastic community will be available.
It will be possible make meeting, in real time, among classes of different countries. The
collaboration will not be a simple "working together at distance for a common
project" but a really moment of mutual exchange, of virtual friendship that will
find, in the future, a "face to face" in the meeting planed in Spring 2001 among
the schools taking part in the realisation of EK project.
